About Gerard Zappa
Gerard Zappa is a Wooster-based professional musician who has over three decades of experience within the space. Gerard has always had a passion for music and began writing and playing bass at 13 years old. In his college years, Gerard made the decision to learn more about the music industry from the inside by working internships at Polygram and Columbia Records. It was there that he was able to further develop his knowledge in areas such as music management, productions, and improving visibility for talent.
After years of solo music experience, Gerard Zappa made the decision to co-found Valentine with his friend in the industry and fellow musician, Adam Holland. In the 1990s, the band had solidified itself as a force within rock music. The band was reformed under the name Open Skyz and signed a deal with RCA records, with the band enjoying success for over a decade.
Gerard would later enter a new era of his musical career when he and Valentine members Craig Pullman, Mike Morales, and Adam Holland combined forces with musician Steve Augeri to create the Steve Augeri Band. The Steve Augeri Band would go on to receive critical acclaim and continues to play concert venues and festivals to this day.
In addition to Gerard Zappa of Wooster’s career as a musician, he serves in a variety of other capacities as an event producer, music producer, and writer. Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation on his extensive knowledge of the industry and its processes, his passion for the arts, and penchant for infusing passion into everything that he does. Whether it is front and center or behind the scenes, Gerard believes in quality and is always working to remain on the cutting edge of the space he has spent a lifetime in.
